Originally known as the Munn and Felton Works Band, GUS Band has established itself as one of the leading brass bands, with a string of titles to its name and regular appearances at the National Brass Band Championships at the Royal Albert Hall. Despite the changes in the band’s history over time, one thing that remains the same is the standards and ideals started by Fred Felton and his brother in 1933 when they formed the band and proclaimed: "We are going to aim high."

About the series

This concert is the third of eight in the Leeds Best of Brass 2025/26 series.

About the Leeds Best of Brass 2025/26 series

There’s nothing quite like the sound of a championship brass band and this season we’ve got some of the UK’s very best.

From contest champions to audience favourites, there’s plenty to enjoy whether you’re a seasoned fan or new to the brass band world.

While Morley Town Hall is closed for refurbishment, our Leeds Best of Brass series has found a new home at Pudsey Civic Hall – a friendly and accessible venue with great transport links, free parking and a well-stocked bar. It’s a great place to enjoy a Saturday night of top quality brass music. Seating in this venue is unreserved.
