Connection explores the deep, unseen bond between a tree and the earth from which it draws life. Delicate threads trace invisible flows of energy and water, weaving a luminous link between roots and branches. Crafted onsite with mature trees in the grounds of Leeds Minster, Ensing has created a space for quiet contemplation and harmony.

OUTDOOR, FLASHING LIGHTS, SOUND 

A stunning forest of up to 100 multi-coloured towers zig zag up Playhouse Gardens, ending in a glade bathed in sound towards the back of the site. Eye-catching colours move up and down the towers in a mesmerising programmed light sequence. Wimperis works in the tradition of the readymade, repurposing everyday objects to create art.  

Commissioned by Light Night Leeds, Light Night Wigan and Nightfall, Middlesbrough. The sound design has been specially commissioned by Leeds Conservatoire to mark their 60th anniversary.

Creative Arts students have created magical, family friendly activities and interactive installations. Experience a reimagined city 100 years in the future and a 100 meters under the sea in the Chroma Q Theatre. Spot all your favourite Leeds Landmarks from our roof terrace. Staff and students from the Childhood Education Department will provide craft activities for young people and supervise our sensory room and dedicated quiet spaces.
