Good Luck To You, Leo Grande is an intimate comedy about self-discovery, sex positivity, and female pleasure from director Sophie Hyde (Animals) and screenwriter Katy Brand. Nancy Stokes (Emma Thompson), a retired school teacher and widow, is yearning for some adventure, some human connection, and some good sex. Having never experienced an orgasm, Nancy hopes to embark on a sexual awakening with the help of a charismatic sex worker who goes by the name of Leo Grande (Daryl McCormack). In an anonymous hotel room Nancy greets Leo. He looks every bit as good as his picture, but what Nancy wasn’t expecting was conversation as well as fornication. Over the course of their rendezvous, the power dynamics shift and they build a surprising rapport.
