Founded in 1855 as the Saltaire Band by Sir Titus Salt as one of the amenities for the workers at his recently opened mill, the band had a long association with Hammonds Sauce Works under the baton of the legendary Geoffrey Whitham. Now with Morgan Griffiths as Musical Director, the band performs as Hammonds Band. In recent years the band has contested throughout Europe, recorded numerous CDs and performed at some of the best concert venues in the world.
